So now for my post. I am from Detroit and a huge sports fan, so naturally, I'll have a take on the Detroit Lions. Well what is there to say. They're going for the perfect 0-16 season and in all honesty, I hope they do lose this weekend. Some people don't see that as a way a fan should feel but it's not all that bad. Think about it. What difference will winning one game do? 1-15 is different because they won't have the dubious distinction of being the only 0-16 team in NFL history but does it really mean the Lions are that much better. There were 2 and 3 win teams in the past. Did that really change anything? No. I want this team to be remembered for something. This organization needs a good kick in the ass and I think this will give it. The only other team in NFL History to go winless was the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Looking at the scores and stats, this years Lions were better than the Buccaneers but all that is irrelevant. Winless is Winless. The Buccaneers eventually won a Super Bowl (albeit it was almost 3 decades after) so they didn't just shut down the team neither were they hampered by this permanently. They worked their way back, eventually becoming one of the best teams in the league for a span of about 10 years in the late 90's and early 00's. I don't know what will happen to the Lions but if the Fords have any pride whatsoever, they'll make changes...big changes.
Potential new helmet for the Lions?
